The Final Product / Result:
The result was a new feature in the Avis Mobile app that notifies members upon flight arrival to access available cars and upgrades before arriving at the rental counter. Members could review vehicle features, filtering by specific attributes and reserve the best car available for their needs. All of this took place within the Avis Mobile app and allowed members to completely bypass the rental counter. At the same time members felt more empowered by choosing their own vehicle and Avis gained operational efficiencies.
One of the biggest values customers found was the Express Exit Gate feature which allowed members to simply scan a QR code in the app to open the exit gate automatically. These two new features combined to make their car rental experience one of the fastest in the industry from flight arrival to leaving the rental lot.
